NJ School District Boiler Maintenance Program
Project Overview
A New Jersey school district turned to ICA Heating to establish a preventive maintenance program for their Patterson-Kelley Thermific boilers — originally installed in 1986. Rather than replacing aging but functional equipment, the district chose to extend the life of their existing boiler plant through systematic annual maintenance.
ICA performs annual inspections including burner and safety device checks, combustion testing and tuning for proper air-fuel ratios, safety interlock verification, and comprehensive documentation of findings with repair recommendations. All work is coordinated with school administrators to avoid disruption to the academic schedule.
The program has resulted in fewer unexpected heating failures during winter months, more consistent boiler operation and output temperatures, increased confidence in safety systems through documented testing, and clearer visibility for future capital planning — saving the district thousands compared to premature equipment replacement.
