Liberty Science Center Hydronic Heating
Project Overview
Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ required a reliable hydronic heating system upgrade. ICA furnished and installed three Patterson-Kelley MACH C-2500 high-efficiency cast aluminum condensing boilers with the advanced NURO control platform.
The NURO system provides onboard lead/lag cascade control, open/close valve management, and variable speed pump operation via 4-20mA output. The system also integrates with the facility's existing Cleaver Brooks backup boiler through the Auxiliary Boiler in Cascade feature — providing seamless redundancy.
The installation maintains the hydronic system within ±0.5°F under steady-state conditions — critical for the precise environmental controls required by Liberty Science Center's exhibits and collections.
